Patagonia’s Building With Natural Lighting From Solar Power

The project was finished by two architect designer Daniel Bebin and Tomas Saxton in 2008. Iron, glass, corrugated aluminium, timber are the main material that construct the building that was owned by Patagonia Mineral S.A.  The Patagonia’s building took a location in Punta Arenas, XII Región, Chile.

The concept of building is designed so that the interior lighting harnesses the natural lighting of solar power. As the designer said, “We applied sustainable design principles which are recognized through the inner solar gain generating natural lighting in interior spaces, as in the elements of the structure that can be reused, guarantying a long life cycle for the materials used in this building”.

More again they said, “We can also notice The Water in their different phases collecting one in particular: the frozen water produces a unique single structure, recognized in that specific location. These forms are materialized on the large glass areas of the windows and the shape of the floors.”
